Red Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. shredded red cabbage
2 Tbsp. butter or bacon drippings
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. wine vinegar
1 apple, cored and sliced thinly
3 Tbsp. red currant jelly
1 Tbsp. caraway seeds
1/4 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation

Melt butter or bacon fat in a large skillet. Add cabbage, water and vinegar. Cover pan and simmer, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes. When cabbage is soft, add apple slices, currant jelly, salt, caraway seeds and raisins. Stir gently. Heat for 2 more minutes. Serve hot.
