Ham And Potatoes Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. chopped onions
    1/4 c. green pepper
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    few grains pepper
    1 c. milk
    1 c. shredded American or Cheddar cheese
    1/4 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing
    3 medium potatoes, cooked and diced (about 3 c.)
    2 c. diced, cooked ham
Preparation
    In medium saucepan melt butter; add onions and green pepper. Cook until tender.
    Stir in flour and pepper; add milk all at once and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Reduce heat; add shredded cheese and mayonnaise, stirring until cheese melts.
    Add ham and potatoes to sauce; mix well.
    Add salt to taste.
    Pour mixture into shallow baking dish and bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes or until heated through, bubbly and lightly brown.
