Nora'S Homemade Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes*
    1 can water
    1 (12 oz.) can condensed milk**
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 Tbsp. margarine or butter
Preparation
    Bring tomatoes, water, salt and pepper to a boil in a large pot.
    Reduce heat and simmer 5 to 10 minutes; then remove from heat and add baking soda, stirring constantly.
    (It will overflow if you are not careful.)
    After bubbling stops, return to low heat and add the margarine.
    Stir well.
    When melted and smooth, it is ready to eat.
    (Good with oyster crackers or saltines.)
