Old-Fashioned Cream Of Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 c. chicken broth
    1/4 c. butter
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. heavy cream
Preparation
    In a saucepan, combine first 6 ingredients.
    Cover and simmer 1 hour.
    Heat cream in top of double boiler (slowly).
    Add to tomato mixture just before serving.
    Makes 1 1/2 quarts.
    Serves 8.
