Granny Durand'S Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    1 1/2 c. cooking oil
    2 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Sift together flour, cocoa and salt 2 or 3 times.
    Set aside. Beat together (using electric mixer) the sugar, cooking oil, then beat in red food coloring.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add buttermilk and flour alternately.
    Add vanilla.
    Fold in vinegar mixed in soda.
    Pour into 3 well-greased and floured cake pans.
    Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool and frost. Yield:
    1 (3 layer) cake.
