Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. light brown sugar (use dark brown sugar if you like darker pie)
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. light corn syrup
    3 eggs, well beaten
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together.
    Add next four ingredients and mix well.
    Add coarsely broken nutmeats.
    Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake in preheated 450\u00b0 oven for 5 minutes.
    Reduce heat and bake at 350\u00b0 until filling is firm.
    I put strips of foil on edge of pie crust to keep from browning too much.
