Overnight Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1/2 c. celery
    1/2 c. onion
    1 can water chestnuts
    frozen peas
    mayonnaise
    1 lb. bacon
    shredded cheese
Preparation
    Chop and mix lettuce, celery, onion and water chestnuts.
    Put in 9 x 13-inch pan as a bottom layer.
    Add a layer of frozen peas. Frost generously with mayonnaise.
    Fry bacon and sprinkle on top. Add shredded cheese.
    Refrigerate overnight.
