Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 c. sweet butter
pinch of salt
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. buttermilk
3/4 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift together flour and baking powder.
Melt butter with 1/2 cup water, chocolate and sugar on low heat until all ingredients are combined.
Remove from heat; transfer to a large mixing bowl. Add sifted dry ingredients to melted mixture; mix thoroughly. Combine buttermilk and baking soda; make sure soda is dissolved. Add to main mixture.
Combine eggs and vanilla; add to main mixture.
Put mixture into greased and floured 8-inch cake pan. Bake in preheated moderate oven for 25 to 35 minutes.
Cool thoroughly, then ice.
