Chinese Sweet 'N Sour Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. top round steak (1/2 to 3/4-inch thick) or use 1 lb. lean boneless pork
    Natural meat tenderizer
    5 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 large onion, cut in thick wedges
    1 c. water chestnuts (8 1/2 oz.), drained and sliced
    1 green pepper, cut in squares
    1 (13 1/4 oz.) can pineapple chunks (undrained)
    2 Tbsp. ketchup
    1 Tbsp. wine vinegar
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 Tbsp. cold water
    2 firm, ripe tomatoes, cut in wedges
    hot cooked rice
Preparation
    Trim fat from meat and tenderize.
    Cut into thin slices on diagonal across grain.
    Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a large skillet until hot.
    Quickly brown beef, over high heat, stirring rapidly, for 3 to 4 minutes.
    Remove to platter with drippings.
