Fettuccine Supreme - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. fettuccine
    1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. dried whole basil
    2/3 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. grated Parmesan or Romano cheese, divided
Preparation
    Beat cream cheese and 1/4 cup softened butter or margarine on low speed of electric mixer until blended.
    Add parsley, basil and pepper; mix well.
    Add boiling water.
    Beat until mixture is smooth.
