Date-Nut Fingers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 egg whites
    1 3/4 c. sifted confectioners sugar
    1 Tbsp. enriched flour
    2 c. broken pecans
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Add salt to egg whites, beat to stiff foam.
    Sift sugar with flour, add to egg whites, one tablespoon at a time.
    Continue beating until very stiff.
    Fold in nuts, dates and vanilla.
    Drop from teaspoon onto cookie sheet covered with plain paper, shape in fingers; bake in slow oven at 300\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Makes 2 dozen.
