Carolina Chew Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine, softened
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. light brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy; add eggs, beating well.
    Blend in flour, vanilla and nuts.
    Spoon batter into well-greased and lightly floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Cool and dust with powdered sugar, then cut into squares.
    Cookies will fall as they cool.
    Yield:
    2 1/2 dozen.
