Gulyas (Hungarian Goulash) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. cubed beef
    2 c. meat broth
    4 slices bacon, diced
    1 1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. paprika
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. caraway seed
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    3/4 c. dry white wine
    6 medium potatoes, quartered
    4 medium carrots, cut up
Preparation
    Saute bacon; remove from pan.
    Saute onion in bacon grease; remove.
    Brown beef.
    Return bacon and onion to pot.
    Add seasonings, broth, wine and green pepper.
    Bring to a boil; simmer, covered, 2 hours.
    Add vegetables.
    Cook 30 minutes more. You may thicken the juices, if preferred, before serving.
