Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    2 Tbsp. red cake coloring (I use 2 small bottles to make a deep red)
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, one at a time.
    Beat well.
    Make a paste of the cocoa and coloring; add to the mixture. Combine salt, vanilla and buttermilk.
    Add alternately with the flour.
    Beat well.
    Do not beat, but fold in vinegar and soda, mixing well.
    Make 3 layers.
    Bake at 350\u00b0.
