Hamburger Dills - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    1 qt. vinegar
    1/2 c. salt
    2 c. water
    celery and dill
    onion slices
Preparation
    Cut pickles in 1/4-inch slices and pack into quart jars with 2 pieces of celery and 2 pieces of dill and some onion slices in each jar.
    Broil syrup and pour hot over pickle slices in jar. Seal.
    Let cure at least 30 days before eating.
    Makes 4 quarts.
