Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. applesauce
3/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. flour (self-rising)
2 tsp. baking soda
4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. orange gum candy

Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs until light.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce.
Add nuts, raisins and cut gum slices.
Bake 1 1/2 hours in a 325\u00b0 oven in greased, paper-lined pan.
