Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3/4 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/2 to 3/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. cayenne red pepper
1 bay leaf, crushed
1 lb. medium or large shrimp, cleaned and deveined
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. parsley flakes
2 c. hot cooked rice
Preparation

Melt butter or margarine in medium size pot; cook and stir onion, celery, green pepper and garlic over medium heat until onion is tender.
Stir in tomato sauce, water, parsley flakes, salt, cayenne red pepper and bay leaf.
Simmer, uncovered, 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in cleaned shrimp.
Heat to boiling.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer until shrimp are done, about 10 minutes.
Serve on rice.
