Beet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. vinegar
    5 lb. white sugar
    1 pkg. Mrs. Wagner spices
Preparation
    Mix all the ingredients and put in a gallon jug.
    Wash beets; cut top of beets off, leaving about 2-inches on top of beets. Boil beets until tender; thin skin beets while hot.
    Bring the spice mixture to a boil.
    Pack beets in a quart jar and pour spice mixture over them.
    Seal while hot.
