Home Care Gingerbread Houses - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c butter or shortening
    1/2 c sugar
    1/2 c light molasses
    1 1/2 t vinegar
    1 egg, beaten
    3 c flour
    1/2 t soda
    1/2 t cinnamon
    1/2 t ginger
    1/4 t salt
Preparation
    Bring butter or shortening, sugar, molasses and vinegar to a boil.
    Cool, add egg.
    Sift dry ingredients together; add to first mixture; mix well.
    Chill.
    On lightly floured surface, roll out to about 1/8 inch thickness for thin cookies or 1/4 inch for plump cookies.
    Cut in disired shapes.
    Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 F for 6-12 minutes.
    Cool 5 minutes and remove from sheet.
