Blackberry Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. margarine, cream until creamy
    4 eggs, beaten separately
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 level tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. blackberry jam or 16 oz. jar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. ground walnuts or pecan nuts
Preparation
    Sift all dry ingredients together.
    Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolk together with milk and vanilla.
    Alternate blackberries and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and nuts.
    Bake in tube pan, greased and floured.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
