Basic Marinara Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 1/2 tsp. garlic (liquid if possible)
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    3 tsp. basil (liquid if possible)
    1 tsp. white sugar
    1 tsp. oregano (liquid if possible)
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Saute onion in a mixture of the olive oil and garlic until tender.
    Add remaining ingredients, cover and cook 15 minutes over medium heat.
    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
    Serve over hot cooked pasta.
    Makes 3 cups.
