Turnip Au Gratin - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 c. diced turnips or rutabagas
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
3/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 c. bread crumbs
Preparation

Combine turnips, salt and sugar in a saucepan.
Add water to cover, bring to a boil then simmer 12 to 15 minutes.
Melt butter in saucepan.
Add flour and milk until thickened and bubbly.
Add salt, pepper and cheese.
Cook until cheese melts.
Fold in drained turnips.
Pour into 1 1/2 quart slightly greased casserole.
Sprinkle bread crumbs on top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
