Cherry Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    3 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. shortening
    3 3/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. milk
    5 tsp. baking powder
    well drained cherries
    2 1/2 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 1/4 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Mix cherries, melted butter and brown sugar.
    Place cherry mixture in bottom of 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    Pour cake batter over cherries.
    Bake at 350\u00b0.
    Test cake for doneness.
