Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or 1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    Cream Cheese Frosting
Preparation
    Cream shortening and margarine; add sugar and beat until mixture is smooth.
    Add yolks and beat well.
    Combine flour and soda and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Add coconut and chopped nuts.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake in three greased 9-inch pans.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes or until done.
    Frost.
    Can be baked in two layers and cut each crosswise, making four layer cake.
