Apple-Pineapple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 stick margarine
    4 small apples, chopped fine
    1/2 c. nuts, chopped
    1 large Cool Whip
Preparation
    Cook first 4 ingredients until thickened.
    Cool, then add apples and nuts.
    Spread mixture into a 13 x 9-inch dish.
    Spread Cool Whip on top.
    Top with cherries, if desired.
