1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
1 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
5 eggs
Preparation

Cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, at moderate speed.
Makes a pound cake or 2 or 3 layers.
Bake at 350\u00b0 (45 minutes for pound cake).
