Ingredients

1 c. egg whites (about 8 medium at room temperature)
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Beat egg whites and salt until foamy.
Add cream of tartar and beat until stiff.
Add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, beating constantly.
Add vanilla.
Spread in an ungreased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
Put in preheated 450\u00b0 oven.
Turn oven off.
