Pineapple Betty - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can pineapple tidbits
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. flaked coconut
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon and nutmeg
    1/4 c. butter, melted
    1 c. plain croutons
    vanilla ice cream or whipped topping
Preparation
    Drain pineapple, reserving 1/2 cup syrup.
    Mix pineapple with sugar, coconut and spices.
    Mix pineapple syrup and next 2 ingredients.
    Spoon half the crouton mixture into shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
    Cover with half the pineapple mixture, remaining crouton mixture and the pineapple.
    Bake in preheated 375\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes.
    Serve warm with ice cream.
