\"Christmas at Pa and Mema's was always very special as all the cousins, aunts, uncles and friends gathered there for the festivities.
The smells when you opened the front door were intoxicating.
The huge cedar tree in the corner of the parlor room loaded with gifts was awesome.
The Christmas Jam Cake tucked away in the cupboard was another family tradition and I couldn't wait to see it, to smell it.
And most of all, to sink my teeth into that wonderful Christmas experience.
My mother has carried on the tradition and I have made the cake many times myself.
My recipe is a little different from Mothers.
Mine is a darker color because I use cocoa.
I think it's wonderful.
