Crystals - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 level tsp. sugar
    pinch of salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, beaten
    2 full heaping Tbsp. sour cream
    1 Tbsp. brandy or 1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 to 1 c. milk (as much as needed)
Preparation
    Don't make dough too stiff.
    Knead until it comes off your fingers.
    Separate into three balls.
    Let sit at least 20 minutes so dough can relax.
    Roll dough thin.
    Cut into 4-inch squares. Make two or three slits in each square.
    Fry in deep hot oil.
