Cherokee Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 c. instant rice
    1/2 onion
    1 tsp. thyme
    1 pinch of bay leaf
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
    1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
    slices favorite cheese
    1 can chopped tomatoes
    1 can mushroom soup
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Brown hamburger and onion together with thyme, bay leaf, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning.
    Add mushroom soup and tomatoes. Stir and heat.
    Add instant rice, lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until rice is done.
    Stir, put in casserole bowl.
    Add cheese strips or slice to top.
    Place under broiler until cheese melts.
    You're ready to serve.
    Feeds family of 4 to 6.
