Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter
1 lb. sugar
6 egg yolks, well beaten
1 qt. nuts (pecans or any)
2 lb. candied fruit
1 oz. vanilla extract
4 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
6 well beaten egg whites
Preparation

Cream butter and add sugar.
Cream and add egg yolks (well beaten).
Add nuts.
Add candied fruit.
Add vanilla extract.
Add plain flour with baking powder sifted in.
Add well beaten egg whites.
Mix with hand when too stiff to stir.
Bake in well-greased and floured stem pan for 5 hours at 250\u00b0 with water in oven above and below.
