Sheet Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
5 to 6 cooking apples

Preparation

Cream sugar, shortening and egg until creamy.
Combine flour, salt and baking powder.
Add gradually to creamed mixture and add milk.
Spread batter on a greased cookie sheet.
Slice apples and arrange over batter.
Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and pats of butter or margarine.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 50 minutes.
