Home-Style Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c chopped onion
    5 Tbsp butter or margarine
    5 Tbsp all purpose flour
    1 1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp pepper
    5 c milk
    6 c thinly sliced potatoes
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until blended.
    Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
    Place half of potatoes in greased 3 qt baking dish. Pour half of sauce over potatoes.
    Repeat layers. Bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 60 to 70 minutes or until potatoes are tender and top is lightly browned.
    Serve immediately.
    8 servings.
