Grandmother Sauls' Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large firm green tomatoes
    salt and pepper
    1 c. cornmeal
    bacon drippings
Preparation
    Cut tomatoes into 1/4-inch slices.
    Season with salt and pepper.
    Cover with cornmeal.
    Fry slowly in heated bacon drippings until browned.
    Turn once.
