Nanah'S Perfect Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 level tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 1/2 to 3 c. whole pecans
Preparation
    In large, heavy saucepan, combine sugar and buttermilk with soda.
    Boil, stirring constantly, until it holds together between your fingers when tested in cold water, about 6 or 7 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla, butter and pecans.
    Mix well and drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
    Each praline should have 4 to 5 pecans.
    Let cool until firm.
