Mom'S Cooked Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 qt. milk
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    vanilla to taste
Preparation
    Mix sugar, flour and enough milk to make paste in large saucepan.
    Put rest of milk with rest of ingredients. Cook and stir constantly until thick and bubbly, then add vanilla.
    Should be thick enough to have knife stand in it.
