Dorothea Brown'S Wheat Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. finely chopped nuts
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix flour, salt and brown sugar in a large bowl.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add nuts.
    Slowly add just enough milk to make it stick together, about 2/3 cup.
    Knead in bowl all ingredients about 1 minute.
    Roll to 1/4-inch thickness.
    Cut in strips about 1/2 x 4-inches.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 40 minutes on greased sheets.
