Hoosier Gooseberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) double crust
    4 c. gooseberries
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. minute tapioca
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Wash berries and remove stems.
    Pat dry.
    Place berries, sugar, tapioca, butter, salt and nutmeg in a large saucepan over low heat.
    Stir frequently and cook until sugar is melted and berries are soft.
    Let cool.
    Pour into pie shell and cover with top crust.
    Make 5 to 6 slashes in top crust.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes longer.
