Jessie'S Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    salt
    cucumbers
    cauliflower
    onion
    alum
    turmeric
    vinegar
Preparation
    Add 1 cup salt to 1 gallon of vegetables; set for 3 days. Drain and rinse well.
    Add 2 tablespoons alum per gallon and cover with water.
    Set for 24 hours.
    Drain and rinse well.
    Cover with vinegar and 1 tablespoon turmeric (per gallon) for color.
    Set for 10 days.
    Drain and add 3 cups of sugar per day for 2 or 3 days according to taste.
