Fruited Chicken - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. pitted prunes
1/2 c. water
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. oil
3 lb. chicken (pieces)
2 c. chopped onion
1 large clove garlic
1 can (1 lb.) tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Chop prunes and soak in water for 1 hour. In large skillet, heat butter & oil; add chicken and brown 5-10 minutes on all sides. Arrange chicken in shallow baking dish. Add onions to skillet and saute' 5 minutes. Stir in garlic, tomatoes, salt & pepper, and nutmeg. Simmer 5 minutes. Pour over chicken and bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Pour prune mixture over chicken and bake until chicken is tender. Serves six.
