Cheese And Vegetable Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    6 oz. finely chopped ham
    1 c. sliced mushrooms
    2 c. chicken broth or stock
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 lb. grated extra sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 c. half and half
    1 c. cooked broccoli flowerets
    1/2 c. cooked, sliced carrots
Preparation
    Cook garlic and onion in butter over low heat, stirring, for 10 minutes or until onion is transparent.
    Add ham and mushrooms, stirring for 3 minutes.
