Sweet And Sour Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. red cabbage, shredded
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 medium cooking apple, chopped
    1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced diagonally in thick chunks
    2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1/4 c. dry red wine
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown sausage and onion in skillet. Remove.
    In the same skillet, cook apple and cabbage in 1/4 cup water for 5 minutes. Return sausage and onion to skillet.
    Add vinegar, wine, salt, pepper and butter or margarine. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Serves 6.
