Peach Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 to 10 peaches, peeled and pitted
    4 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    approximately 1 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, shortening and milk. Roll as
    for pie dough and cut into squares.
    Wrap each square around a
    peach.
    Place in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Make the following syrup
    and\tpour
    over
    the dumplings.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 about 45 minutes.
