Apple Cheddar Melts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices whole wheat bread, lightly toasted
    2 Tbsp. softened butter
    1 tsp. curry powder
    1 Granny Smith apple, halved, cored and thinly sliced
    spinach leaves, watercress or other greens of choice
    country ham slices, cooked (optional)
    crisp bacon (optional)
    cooked sausage patty (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat broiler. Mix curry powder and butter and spread on toast. Layer other ingredients. Shred 1/2 pound of sharp extra sharp cheese. Cover layered toast slices with cheese and broil 6-inches from broiler for 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Watch closely to keep from burning.
