Lillian Hellman'S Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (4 lb.) piece beef
    1 envelope dried onion soup
    1 large chopped onion
    2 c. red wine
    1 crushed bay leaf
    1 tsp. basil
    1 (10 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
    3 cloves chopped garlic
    2 c. water
    1 tsp. thyme
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine all ingredients in a good pot in order given.
    Cover and bake about 3 1/2 hours.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
