Chocolate Picnic Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 stick margarine
1/2 c. shortening
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
pinch of salt
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Combine margarine, shortening, cocoa and water in small saucepan.
Bring
to
a
rapid boil and pour over flour, sugar and salt
which
have been sifted into a large bowl.
Mix well and add buttermilk to which soda has been added.
Blend well; add slightly beaten eggs and vanilla.
Mix well and pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
About
5
minutes
before cake is done, start to make frosting.
