Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped red onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. shredded carrots
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    1 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    bacon bits
    grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Shred lettuce in large flat dish.
    Layer on onion, green pepper, celery, carrots and frozen peas (straight from package). Mix sugar into the mayonnaise; spread over the peas.
    Top that with a sprinkle of bacon bits and grated cheese.
