Spicy Fruit - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 oz. can peach halves
    16 oz. can pear halves
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. vinegar
    2 sticks cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Drain fruit and reserve 1/2 cup syrup.
    Combine this syrup and add vinegar, cinnamon, cloves and sugar.
    Bring to boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
    Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
    Add fruit and simmer 15 minutes, turning fruit occasionally.
    Chill.
