Burnt Sugar Coconut Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. white sugar
    3 Tbsp. white corn syrup
    1 3/4 c. milk, heated
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. coconut
Preparation
    In a heavy skillet, burn sugar to a medium brown.
    Add Karo syrup to sugar.
    Add milk a little at a time (do not stop boiling process).
    Cook to soft-ball stage.
    Remove from heat and add soda. Stir quickly until foam goes down.
    Add butter, vanilla and coconut.
    Beat very hard.
    Pour into buttered dish to harden.
